About us

We built the lab we wished existed.

A home for life science startups in Solano County, where great science does not have to wait for a building.

Our story

Science shouldn't wait for a building.

LifeSpace Labs opened its wet lab in Vacaville in 2023 with a simple idea: early-stage life science companies shouldn't have to raise millions and spend a year on a build-out before running their first experiment.

So we built the lab first. Shared BSL-1 and BSL-2 benches, private suites, offices and the equipment to go with them, run by a team that keeps everything working so founders can focus on their science.

Since then we have grown into a community of companies across biotech, food and materials, and in 2024 we launched Flex BioCulture to help those companies scale up production in the same building.
